1126Making the transition

I’ve got about 6 months left for my lengthy undergraduate degree. I’m excited to finish up but not sure what I want to do next. Most people head right into their MBA for the next couple of years, but I’m still not sure about that. I love doing what I do, but there’s so much other stuff like psychology or counseling that I’d like to get into. Even professional photography or travel writing would be great.
I think that where I’m at now is making things even more stressful since I don’t really have a lot of financial leverage to make the most out of my remaining time as an undergrad. It’s kind of sad that I haven’t had the opportunity to just go to school and not have to worry about working. At times school has been an afterthought. I have obligations and loans and credit cards and that’s hit my GPA worse than anything else. It’s great having a car and an apartment but I think the future costs of having a GPA that isn’t anything special will hurt me. If I do head to graduate school I have to make it a point to keep my grades above average so that I can redeem myself.
I don’t know. I want to work because it’s constantly rewarding. I love my job and I’d like to make more out of it than the part-time internship that it is at the moment. I guess we’ll be able to discuss that when we re-negotiate the terms at the end of the semester.
My time abroad has taught me a lot about myself, but I do love having a lot of personal time as well as flexibility in regards to my professional ventures. We’ll see where I end up in 6 months.
